Hello and welcome to the third blog in this series exploring the services that Tech Advice offers. Today I will be looking at what Tech Advice can do to help you with your internet connection/Wi-Fi and smart home devices.
First I am going to look at how Tech Advice supports the many Smart Home technologies available from the expensive ones from the larger companies to the cheap ones found in discount stores. We can help you with the installation and management of these devices, from virtual assistants to smart bulbs and plugs. We can also help you make the most of them by guiding you through the more complicated features that can improve your experience using these devices such as having them turn on or off at certain times of the day. I would encourage you to keep an eye on the blogs page of techadvice.ie as I may from time to time do a post on these technologies and explain some of these features in step by step guides.

Next I am going to look at how Tech Advice’s services support Smart TVs and video games consoles. These devices are getting more and more complicated, and while we can’t repair them we can help with setting them up and try to solve settings based issues. In addition, we are looking at providing a Sony PS5 SSD upgrade service as soon as Sony rolls out the required software update to all users (If you are in the current beta program feel free to contact us if you need help). I would also like to point out that we can provide buying advice for these devices which I will be talking about in the next blog post.
Internet Optimisation is the third service that I wish to talk about today. It involves checking your current internet/Wi-Fi setup to check for security holes, signal strength issues, as well as checking for other problems. We can also help you troubleshoot issues with your internet connection separate from optimisation, however we won’t be able to check or fix the cables leading to your home, this is the job of your Internet Service Provider (e.g. Vodafone, Eir, Sky); we can only try to fix basic issues such as checking for loose cables or device related connection issues. As mentioned in the previous blogs, please read our response to the COVID-19 pandemic before calling to arrange an internet optimisation visit.

I hope this blog has answered some of your questions on these services, if not feel free to contact Tech Advice using the details found here. Just like last time, feel free to post a comment either here or on the Tech Advice social media pages if you have any ideas for future blog posts.
In the next blog post I will be taking a look at how Tech Advice can help you choose the right device for your needs with our Buying Advice service.
