Meeting to solve a technical issue

Business – Services

List of Services: (Click one to jump to the required service)

Note that all of the services provided to regular consumers are also available to businesses.

Consultations Service:

This service combines elements of the computer assistance, buying advice, one-to-one lessons, and cybersecurity advice services. This gives you the opportunity to ask questions about your current IT set-up, and tell us what issues you have, in turn we will give you suggestions on how to improve your systems and resolve your issues. We can deliver this service either in person at your office, over the phone, or using Zoom. In addition, if you would like we can send you a brief note expanding on any of the matters discussed during a consultation. Please note that this is a paid for service costing €20 per hour regardless of how it is delivered.

Basic Website Creation & Social Media Support:

In this digital age it is now vital, more than ever, to have a website, or at least a social media presence. Tech Advice can build you a basic website like our own or a Facebook business page.

The process involves Tech Advice meeting with you either in person or on Zoom to discuss what you want from your website. We will then give you a list of things that we will need to make it happen, things such as business logos, images, and the text you would like visitors to see, we can help you find or create these as needed. If needed we can take some photos of your shop front/products to display on your site, for a fee of course.

Once this content has been gathered and received, we will send you a plan of how we will put the site together, along with an estimated timeframe and cost for you to accept or reject. At this point you may need to pay for any domain names or website plans, we will explain these to you and why you may need them well in advance. Once the site has been created you can choose whether you want us to manage it or if you would like us to show you how to manage it.

Custom PC Builds:

The computer needs of businesses can be demanding, but also very specific, this can sometimes result in very limited options in terms of what computers are available for purchase in retail stores or online. In cases where our Buying Advice service cannot find an exact match at a reasonable price for your needs, we may suggest a custom PC build.

This service is not cheap, and the following steps are taken from the outset to prevent any financial loss for Tech Advice. The first is that the parts must be paid for by your business at the start, with labour being billed at the end once the PC has been built. We will provide a few build options before you pay so that you can weigh up the cost with the performance gains of the more expensive options, if possible, we will also provide a quote for how much labour will cost. Third, we can provide the option of using parts from your old system in the creation of the new one (more on that in the next section) to reduce the cost without sacrificing performance.

When you choose a build option, we will then give you the choice of using all new parts, a mixture of second hand and new parts, or all new parts with basic parts like the hard drive (or SSD) and case taken from the old system. The last two options can reduce the cost of the new system, but the first (new parts) and third (parts from the old system) options are more likely to provide better long-term performance as used parts can fail quicker. Be aware that taking apart your old system will incur additional labour costs that may outweigh the benefits gained from not purchasing new parts.

IT Policy and Procedures Document:

If you decide to use Tech Advice for your businesses’ technical support needs, we can gradually build you an IT Policy and Procedures document. This document serves two distinct purposes: first it informs you and your employees of best practice and how your business conducts tasks such as cybersecurity, computer maintenance, and data backup. Second, it informs a computer technician of how your IT systems interact, what software is used, what devices are present, and their specifications. This enables a smooth transition between technicians if there is a change in personnel and enables a quicker resolution of an issue, it can also be used as a reference for the current technician.

The gathering of information for the policy document is considered either a consultation or computer assistance and is priced accordingly, we can of course discuss alternatives on a case-by-case basis.

Physical Marketing Materials:

While we are not, and do not plan to be, a graphic design business, we do have experience designing and printing marketing materials both for ourselves and some of our existing clients. Below is a list of the materials that we can design and print to your specifications. Please note that we can also take photographs to be used in these materials such as your shop front, some of your products or similar. In addition, please be aware that our marketing materials may be better suited for start ups or those on a budget as we print on regular paper or card with the option of having them laminated; you may ask to see samples before committing to using the service. In addition, we are open to requests for new types of materials and you may provide us with raw materials that you wish for us to use in your order, e.g. coloured card that matches your logo better.

  • A4 and A5 Posters (May be laminated)
  • Flyers (May be laminated)
  • Business Cards
  • Promotional Leaflets
