Terms of Service

General Terms:

From here on “Tech Advice”, “I”, “We”, “Us” and “Our” refers to Seán Nikken trading as Tech Advice. Additionally, “You” and “Your” refers to you the customer/client.

  • This agreement should not be considered waived if we choose not to enforce some of its provisions.
  • These terms outline both the agreement and understanding between you and us in connection with the contents of this document.
  • This agreement may not be amended, modified, varied, or supplemented except in writing and signed by or on behalf of you and us.
  • If any of the provisions in this agreement are deemed void or unenforceable, they will be separated from the other provisions retaining the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions as required by their terms.
  • This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland and shall be the subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.

Liability:

By agreeing to these terms of service you agree that our liability regarding any issue that arises because of us carrying out our service is limited to us: i) providing the service again; ii) a refund; iii) paying for the service to be provided by an independent third party.


Repairs and Upgrades:

The following terms apply as soon as your device is signed in by you for either a repair or hardware upgrade.

  • We will conduct the repairs/upgrades using new parts of a merchantable quality or better using skills appropriate to the service.
  • Where possible these parts will be the same as those replaced unless the part(s) has (have) been discontinued or would be excessively costly to acquire.
  • We may require login information for your device to diagnose and/or repair your device’s issue.
  • Repairs and upgrades will be performed as quickly as possible. If an estimated time frame is given, be aware that unforeseen issues may arise causing the service to take longer. Should this occur, we will try to contact you as soon as possible, however during periods of high demand this may not be possible.
  • Once a repair/upgrade is complete we will contact you using the details you provided when signing in the device.
    • Once a repair/upgrade is complete you have 3 days to collect it, after which we will charge a €5 storage fee. After 30 days we will sell the unclaimed device to recoup the cost of the service.
  • If we cannot complete the service due to an unforeseen issue, we will contact you and try to advise alternative solutions; you will not be charged.
  • If you change your mind regarding a service after the device is signed in, you may have to pay for any parts already installed/used/ordered. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis.
  • You will be charged according to the pricing list found at: techadvice.ie/pricing; in addition to any cost mentioned in these terms that is incurred.
    • We may keep your device until you have paid for the service, we do not sell on credit.
  • Repairs and upgrades will render your device’s warranty void as these services involve opening the device and removing/adding hardware which is not allowed under the terms of such warranties.

Advice/Internet Optimisation/Lessons:

The following terms apply as soon as you call the phone number of Tech Advice requesting advice. It also applies as soon as a booked lesson/appointment begins both online and in person.

  • When giving advice we strive to give up to date advice and information. However due to the ever-evolving nature of technology we may accidentally give out of date information. Should this occur, we will attempt to contact you about this.
  • All advice given is used at your own risk, we accept no liability for any loss be it physical/digital/monetary or otherwise incurred due to you using the advice
  • You are required to provide contact details at the start of a phone call where advice is sought. This information will be used to follow up if payment is not provided at the end of the call.
  • Payment is required at the end of each phone call/lesson where the phone call/session lasts more than ten minutes.
  • You will be charged according to the pricing list found at: techadvice.ie/pricing at the end of the lesson/phone call.
