Heron in Flight

This photo was taken along the River Nore in Inistioge in March. It took a lot of patience waiting for the heron to take flight. When it did take flight, it flew straight in my direction before swinging around to let me get this photo.

Mallard Preening

This photo, taken in June, is of a female mallard preening herself (waterproofing her feathers) while a male mallard watches. The photo was taken on the River Nore in Inistioge.

Heron Side Portrait

A side portrait of a heron taken along the bank of the river Nore in Inistioge. The conditions and the position of the heron were just right to get a sharp image and a partial reflection.

Frosty Robin

This photo was taken in February during a bit of frosty weather. This robin walked around and posed for the camera for a good ten minutes or so resulting in a number of good photos like this one.

Young Cormorant

This photo of a young cormorant was taken on “The Green” beside the river Nore in Inistioge. The Cormorant was close enough to the shore that I could get a decent photo of it while not annoying it, very important in wildlife photography. Photo available in portrait orientation on request.
